Well-resourced large acute care community hospital with an established pediatric hospitalist program that is now under new management.
Pediatric ward, consult to ED, well-baby nursery, delivery attendance. Level II NICU is staffed by Neonatologists with hospitalists helping to cover overnight. All shifts are in-house.
No PICU, no outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Typical volume: Peds floor 1 - 4 per day; Nursery 2 - 12 per day; deliveries 2 - 7 per day; ED consults 1 - 4 per day. The Level II NICU has 8 beds.
Full time is ~ 7 x 24 hour shifts per month (86 per year). Flexibility to work 24's or split-shifts.
The worksite is ~ 2 hours from Los Angeles, and some Team members choose to live elsewhere and commute to town for their shifts...but living in the area is a great option as well.

Requirements
Board-certified or Board-eligible in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Experience within the past 24 months in inpatient pediatrics, delivery attendance, and managing newborn problems typically found in the Level II NICU setting.
