AdventHealth for Children is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Pediatric Palliative Care Physician to join an established multidisciplinary team (1 MD, 1 APRN) dedicated to providing compassionate, family-centered care for children with complex and life-limiting conditions. The practice is embedded in the Complex Care Clinic with AdventHealth for Children.
Opportunity Highlights
- Primarily inpatient consultative role across CVICU, PICU, NICU, oncology, pediatrics, pediatric subspecialties, and MFM.
- Average ~6 patients/day (mix of new consults and follow-ups, strong continuity of care)
- Flexible schedule with inpatient rounding plus outpatient clinic sessions
- Minimal call burden; currently no regular weekend coverage
- Robust interdisciplinary support including child life, social work, care management, and complex care services
- Emphasis on patient, family-centered care, whole-person care, and collaboration with a team of physicians across specialties.
- Opportunity to work with pediatric residents and palliative medicine fellows.
Program Growth Opportunity
- Help expand outpatient palliative care services within the Center for Complex Kids
- Opportunity to develop a pediatric pain management clinic
- Play a key role in program development and system-wide integration
Ideal Candidate
- BC/BE in Pediatrics and Hospice & Palliative Medicine
- Strong interest in pain management preferred, but not required
- Comfortable with autonomy in a consult-based role within a small, collaborative team
- Active FL medical license, or ability to obtain
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience preferred

This is an employment opportunity through AdventHealth Medical Group, a multi-specialty organization. The Medical Group is a sister organization of AdventHealth. This aligned model and practice management experience provides the opportunity for the physicians to focus on the clinical aspects of medicine.
This practice is affiliated with Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children which is a full service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 peds ICU beds with a dedicated peds CICU, a 102 bed level IV NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, the region’s only BMT and solid organ transplants including kidney and liver, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017.
Our unparalleled network consists of 30 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center totals over 15,000 births and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics. These 30 hospitals refer patients for tertiary and quaternary services to our main location near downtown Orlando. Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida. We are also recognized by The Leapfrog Group as a top Children’s Hospital for quality and safety, and we are a magnet designated hospital for nursing care.
