North Valley Emergency Specialists (NVES) is seeking a full-time qualified physician to join a thriving independent group practice in the Phoenix metro area. We are specifically looking for additional coverage in the pediatric emergency department, and are interested in candidates board-eligible or board-certified in pediatric emergency medicine, or dual-board eligible/certified in emergency medicine and pediatrics. We staff a community hospital with a pediatric ED within a larger general ED in the Banner Health hospital system.
The site: Banner Children’s at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ
-Separate Pediatric ED with dedicated waiting area, completely updated with construction set to finish in June 2026
-14 patient care rooms and access to separate shared resuscitation rooms
-Dedicated pediatric emergency nurses & techs with child life support daily
~17,000 pediatric patients annually; 90,000+ total patient census
-Adult Level 1 trauma center (patients >15 years old)
-Academic affiliations: Creighton/Valleywise Health Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency – 1st, 2nd and 3rd year residents, with opportunities for additional lectures/teaching if desired
-Full spectrum of pediatric sub-specialists, including neurology, GI, pulmonary, surgery, hematology/oncology, orthopedics, urology, cardiology, endocrinology, hand/plastics, and OMFS
-In-house 24-hour crisis social workers for behavioral health disposition assistance and dedicated forensic team
-Pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and NICU support in house 24/7

We’re a short drive away from winter sports activities (or a summer reprieve from the heat!) in Flagstaff as well as Sedona and the Grand Canyon.
